The work that I am engaged in is a material and philosophical inquiry into the inconclusive nature of material inquiry. I use the lens of photography to initiate this process, or the thinking about this process; but since I have come to the conclusion that photography has ceased to exist in any certain, formalized, or post historical manner when addressing the issue of the camera, I am led to engage all media. I am interested in the positioning of artists as cultural producers and believe that we live in a time when things that are open and things that are closed are right up against each other. My studies in the field of contemporary history from the post-colonial era to the present have led me to desire an articulation of inter-genre fissures. This is most often found in my work through collaboration and collective practice.
I find the boundaries between others work and ideas and my work and ideas to be very fluid. If we consider Agnes Heller's Three Logics of Modernity in the context of media, then theory and collectivity are the New Media. I work in installation, film, video, sculpture, performance, truth, and fiction.
